Is there an age at which braces can no longer be worn?

No, teeth can be moved at any age. Only the degree of ease of the operation changes. During the growth period, simple methods can be used to interlock the jaws by acting on the bony bases. In adulthood, however, these techniques become obsolete, as minor damage is already present. Numerous interventions are then necessary, as the situation evolves much more slowly.
